The unexpected return to the Bavarian side

Almost a month from the meeting between the PSG and the Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League, Sadio Mane is uncertain for this European meeting. However, in addition to preparing for the second half of the season, Julian Nagelsmann showed a grain of optimism about the presence of the Senegalese for the first leg.

Present at a press conference this Thursday, the coach of Bayern Munich spoke about his attacker, and in particular the recovery phase which continues for him: “ He’s an important player, that’s why we signed him. If all goes well, he could play against Paris, but everything should go very, very well. There is still a small risk. We will see what the current recovery process is. It ran at 70% yesterday (Wednesday). It’s already faster than we expected“. The Bayern Munich will move to Princes Park next February 14 to play his round of 16 of Champions Leaguea fairly tight schedule for the return of Sadio Mane, Julian Nagelsmann knows it and tempers: But I won’t give exact predictions because I’m not in a position to either. We’ll have to see how it reacts to 100% workload. We’ll see then. There is a small chance that he could play the first leg against Paris but, in my head, I have not planned to play this game yet. Just not to put pressure on him, like I always do with injured players. But he’s definitely on the right track“.

A new goalkeeper at Bayern?

In addition to the potential lack of Sadio Mane, Julian Nagelsmann will have to do with those of Lucas Hernández and Neuer manual. The latter could pose more problems and the Bavarian coach plans to do so, even if the task is likely to be complicated: “ We are in a complicated period to find goalkeepers. It’s a complex market, there aren’t that many options. Ulrich still had some good sessions in training, but we are forced to strengthen ourselves, regardless of number one or two status“. the Paris Saint Germain could therefore face a new goalkeeper for the reigning German champions. As a reminder, it was in skiing, last December, that Neuer manual broke his leg, an injury that sidelined him for the entire season.

the Bayern Munich is currently continuing its preparation post World Cup in Qatar with in particular a friendly match this Friday, December 13 (6 p.m.) against RB Salzburg. They will then resume competition on January 20 with a trip to the lawn of the RB Leipzig. The Bavarians will arrive at Princes Park with six matches of official competitions in the legs.
