The young Parisian titi is again in the professional group for the match against Pays de Cassel, this evening, in the Coupe de France. Increasingly present with the professional group, the young striker may be able to play his second official match with PSG after the match against Châteauroux, already in the Coupe de France. Being a new player unknown to the general public, here are some points to get to know Ilyes Housni well.
He joined Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 14 from AS Jeunesse Aubervilliers. Since then, he has continued to gain momentum and climb the ranks among the Parisians. Always up to expectations and much more, it has proved its seriousness and its undeniable potential over the categories.
With 8 goals in just 6 Youth League games, Housni ranks 2nd in the competition’s goalscoring charts. With 4 goals scored against the youngsters of Juventus and 3 against those of Benfica, the Parisian striker has no trouble scoring against the best teams in his category. Against Reims in the French U19 championship he even scored a sextuplet. With 22 goals in 21 TCC games with the youngsters of PSG, Housni has proven his level and now hopes to have playing time with the professional group.
But Ilyes Housni is not just a scorer, he is a modern striker who can do everything. Very comfortable with the ball, whether to dribble, pass or shoot, he has all the labels. Very fast and provocative with the ball at his feet, he has no difficulty eliminating opposing defenders. These different assets make him an unpredictable attacker and very difficult to hold.
Christophe Galtier, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, is aware of the talent of the young Parisian striker. In a press conference, he announced that he wanted to give him more space in the professional group by having him participate in daily training for the first team. He bounces back by calling Housni a “atypical player” and who has “many qualities”.
Aware of the qualities of the young player, Luis Campos, sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, did not wait to have him sign his first professional contract. Ilyes Housni is now linked until 2026 with the capital club.
Housni has dual Franco-Moroccan nationality, which gives him the option of choosing one of the two national teams. Even if for the moment he is evolving with the French U18 selection, the Moroccan federation is doing everything to convince him to play under their colors. Whether for France or for Morocco, whoever recovers Housni will have a big asset in his pool.
